International: Follow up on Wisconsin Film Festival Favorites

I thought I'd address a brief International post to those who enjoyed the Wisconsin Film Festival and would like to follow up on films that they enjoyed this past weekend.  Some of this information is contained in previous posts, but if you're new to this blog I'll re-present it on one spot for your convenience.

If you enjoyed the Romanian films at the Festival, including Aurora, If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle, Medal of Honor, and Tuesday, After Christmas, then you might want to follow up with other films on Netflix Watch Instantly discussed in my previous post on New Romanian Cinema (follow link).

If you enjoyed the Iranian film The White Meadows, you might want to follow up with other films on Netflix Watch Instantly discussed in my previous post on Iranian Cinema (follow link).

Some people might have missed the marathon screening of Oliver Assayas's Carlos, but it is available for viewing in Netflix Watch Instantly.

In addition, you might consider looking up these independent and documentary films.

If you enjoyed Lionel Rogosin's On the Bowery, you might consider following up with Kent MacKensie's The Exiles (follow link).

If you enjoyed Meek's Cutoff, you might want to follow up with other films by Kelly Reichardt (follow link).

If you enjoyed James Marsh's newest documentary, Project Nim, you might want to follow up with Man on Wire or Wisconsin Death Trip (which played at the 2000 Wisconsin Film Festival).

I should also point out for long-time fans of the Wisconsin Film Festival that the first film ever screened at the inaugural Festival in 1999 is currently streaming on Netflix View Instantly as well: Man of the Century (Adam Abrahams, USA, 1999, 77 minutes).
